How To Have Clear Skin (WITHOUT PRODUCTS)

Everyone knows that a skincare routine is essential if you want clear, healthy-looking skin.

The thing is,  good skincare products can get expensive, especially if you are looking to start a full routine.

This is something a lot of us guys struggle with (especially growing up), so I tried to find the best “free skincare secrets” for guys on a budget.

Here are my best 6 tips to help you achieve the best skin possible— without spending a dim on products!

6 Ways To Achieve Clear Skin (No Products Necessary)

1. Drink Lots Of water

According to doctors, men should be drinking around 100 ounces of water per day. 

Now obviously that figure will change a bit depending on your body, but most guys know drink anywhere near enough water, and it’s terrible for your skin. 

Water helps flush out impurities in your body, and it helps your skin stay hydrated and elastic. Just drinking more water alone will make a huge difference in your skin, as long as you do it consistently.

2. Stop Touching Your Face

Your hands touch tons of nasty things every day, and you’re transferring that stuff straight into your pores.

This will lead to terrible acne breakouts, so stay disciplined and keep your hands away.

3. Get Plenty Of Sleep

Sleep is your body’s way of recovering from the day. It’s when your body can focus on repairing things like your muscles, your skin, and build more energy. 

 

By you staying up all night to play Apex Legends or Warzone with the boys, your denying your body the opportunity to rejuvenate your skin, and repair it. 

You may be able to get away with it when you’re young, but it’ll definitely catch up to you as you get older. It’s better to get in the habit now, so you won’t regret it later.

4. Avoid Sugary and Oily Foods

Your body is ultimately a reflection of what you eat. If you eat unhealthy, you’ll look unhealthy, and your skin is no exception. 

The oils and sugars in unhealthy, fast foods will lead to excessive oil production…causing pretty terrible breakouts.

It’s okay to treat yourself to a greasy burger from time to time, (we’re all guilty of caving into our cravings) but don’t be surprised if you see a zit pop up the morning after!

5. Wash Your Face With Water Every Morning and Every Night

Even if you’re not using skincare products, you should still wash your face with water every morning and night. This will at least help to wash some of the sweat and dirt off your face that naturally accumulate throughout the day. 

Also make sure you are showering every day. That should sound obvious, but us guys are lazy, and I know there have been occasions where I’ve just skipped a day… and it’s never a good idea. 

Cleansing your skin is essential, so even just making sure you shower daily will help reduce acne breakouts.

6. Wash Your Pillowcase At Least Once a Week

Think about it, your pillowcase is being used for HOURS every single night. It absorbs all the oils, toxins, and sweat on your face while you sleep, and you’re continuing to set your face back onto it every single night. 

You should be washing your pillowcase AT LEAST once a week. This tip is crucial, because even a perfect skincare routine is pointless if you set your face on a dirty pillowcase for 8 hours every night.

Also make sure you are showering every day. That should sound obvious, but us guys are lazy, and I know there have been occasions where I’ve just skipped a day… and it’s never a good idea. 

Cleansing your skin is essential, so even just making sure you shower daily will help reduce acne breakouts.
